Honey Mustard Ham Sliders

These ham sliders are assembled with thinly sliced honey-glazed ham nestled in soft buns, then brushed with a tangy honey mustard glaze. The sliders are baked until the ham is heated through and the glaze is glossy, resulting in a tender, flavorful bite with crispy edges and a sticky finish. Perfect for casual gatherings or a comforting weekend treat, they offer a delightful balance of sweetness and tang in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices slider buns preferably soft and slightly sweet like brioche or potato rolls
  • 200 g honey-glazed ham thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons honey adds floral sweetness
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard sharp and tangy
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter for glaze and brushing buns

Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • Small saucepan
  • Brush
  • sharp knife

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the slider buns horizontally in half, keeping the top and bottom connected for easy assembly. Place the bottom halves on the baking sheet.
  3. Arrange the slices of honey-glazed ham evenly over the bottom buns, overlapping slightly to cover all the bread.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine honey, Dijon mustard, and melted butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the mixture is smooth and starts to bubble, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Using a brush, generously spread the warm honey mustard glaze over the ham slices, allowing some to drip onto the buns and caramelize slightly as it cooks.
  6. Place the top halves of the buns over the glazed ham, pressing down gently to help everything meld together.
  7. Brush the tops of the buns with a little more melted butter or glaze for a golden finish.
  8. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes until the buns are toasted and golden, and the glaze is glossy and sticky.
  9. Remove from the oven, let rest for 2 minutes, then slice into individual sliders if desired and serve warm.
